Try to Spent Your Time with Your Children

We all have good intentions of spending more time with our families, but it sometimes just doesn't work like that. This story should really get you thinking. Instead of the hug he was expecting at the end of a long day, his son asked him a question; "How much do you earn every hour dad?"

Although he was surprised by the question he smiled and replied " I am paid $20 an hour son". Before he had a chance to ask his kid why he wanted to know, his son asked another question "cool dad, so could you give me $10?"

If the first question was unexpected, the second one floored him completely. Money was tight and he had to work very hard for his pay check, so his son was bang out of order. He told his son this and expressed his disappointment at how his son had asked him for money. His father's reaction greatly upset the boy and he left the room with a very heavy heart.

When his son hugged him good night he was regretting the way he had spoken to him. He smiled at his boy and handed him a $10 bill. The little boy was delighted; in one quick motion he reached beneath his pillows and got out 10 X $1 bills. His father was now more upset than he had been earlier and demanded to know why he had asked him for more money.

Taking a deep breath and looking his dad straight in he eye, the child replied "I'm buying an hour of your time dad with this $20..." An hour spent with your kids is absolutely priceless.
